Inspired by the Netflix series ’The Bold Type’ – we wanted to take the chance and share our thoughts on this important topics they covered in the 6th episode of the 1st season of the show, called ’The Breast Issue”. The series admirably tackles yet another issue that directly affects women. Have you watched it yet? Share your point of view with us!
Our mission as a brand is to raise awareness and take social responsibility to encourage women to reach a higher level of self-acceptance and self-love. We believe that women should be able to do what they want with their bodies. We think that it is very importan to shed more light and education on the importance of having a good relationship with your body. This kind of mind-shift can facilitate love for yourself in ways you might not have considered previously. Speaking of which, “Free the Nipple” has become a global movement that encourages equality, pride and freedom. The movement poses a simple question – both men and women have nipples; why can’t women bare theirs? If you want to sexualize your body then it’s your choice, not one that should be made for you.
Social media’s response is a reflection of the way society views this specific issue. When a photo is removed of a topless woman, it is being communicated that female breasts are meant to be viewed for pleasure and entertainment only, otherwise should be hidden. We all know that boobs come in a variety of shapes, sizes, textures and colors, and we all know that media pushes the image that we are all to be perfect, ageless, hairless, shiny, fit, beautiful no matter what. But guess what? The truth is, that we are allowed to be hairy, menstruating, squishy and even naked if we want. None of thatmakes us less beautiful and none of that makes us less feminine or less of a human.
So what happens if you don’t wear a bra, you might ask? Well, it’s about time that you become comfortable with yourself! That’s why we decided to create a little challenge for you, where you choose to do a part of your daily routine but being braless. Please keep in mind, that even a little change can make a huge impact on your life. Challenge yourself even for 5 minutes daily and try it our for a week. Do your pole or yoga practice braless, cook your dinner braless, brush your teeth braless… simply free yourself. You might found it a little strange, but keep on going. Check in with yourself emotionally, write about it. Talk to us about it. Start a topic about it. Connect with yourself on a deeper and more meaningful level. Use the hashtag #freethenippleswithFANNA if you wish to share your thoughts on any social media platform.

Some of the side effects of being braless:
- You will feel easy
- You will most probably decide going braless.
- You know that feeling at the end of the day when you take your bra off? Yea, you can basically feel like that all day, every day.
- Your tops will fit differently. This can be a positive or a negative effect, experiment it yourself! Try on tops that will make you more confident.
- Your back might start to hurt. The support that a bra offers is especially important for women with larger breasts. Without the support of the bra, you might feel discomfort or pain. Try out different bras that could give you a comfortable feeling while still offering some support.
- People will most probably stare. Shift your perspective, let people get used to it. It is coming out of curiosity and not from a harmful place.
